The Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference track and field championships are set for Saturday in Bath.

The meet is scheduled to resume Monday at 2 p.m. at Cony High School.

Carrabec’s Emma Pluntke and Shen Black are two of the conference’s best throwers while Monmouth freshmen Maddie Amero and Mahala Hayden are top up-and-comers.

The Rams senior showed strong form Friday as Lisbon’s boys and girls swept the under-lights meet.

The Eagles took the honors away from the Purple Panthers, whose girls team hung on to their title.

Messalonskee’s Taylor Lenentine and Skowhegan’s Noah Stevens are each accomplished gymnasts as well as pole vaulters.
