Cony coach Karen Magnusson is concentrating on half-court defense and rebounding in practice these days with good reason. Her Rams don’t have a starter over 5-foot-8 and will almost always be smaller than their opponents.

Maranacook graduate Ryan Martin scored his 1,000th career point at Keene State College last week, topping the milestone in less than two-and-half seasons. Martin, who transferred from Division I Maine, is in his final year of eligibility.

FARMINGDALE — The Spruce Mountain and Hall-Dale girls basketball teams went at one another furiously last season, splitting a pair of games as they set the standard for play in the Mountain Valley Conference.
