Town Councilors might pick names for the Messalonskee Lake landing to put on the election ballot and let the people decide, they said at a Wednesday night meeting.

The $1.05 million construction project also should be under budget, with any leftover money going toward paying down the building’s $900,000 mortgage.

The Town Council will open up discussion Wednesday for naming the landing at the town beach in light of improvements at the site.
