WATERVILLE — Ted Rioux kept notes as he watched the high school basketball tournament game. Every time a player did something he liked, Rioux would jot her number down. Near half-time, he noticed the same Nokomis player’s number over and over. That player was Emilee Reynolds, and that’s when Rioux decided she’d be a good fit for the Thomas College women’s basketball team.

Berwick is approximately 175 miles from Dover-Foxcroft. Poulin Field in Winslow is only three miles, give or take, from Keyes Field in Fairfield. The football field at Cheverus High School in Portland offers a great view of the city’s skyline, and a view of some of the best football the state’s ever seen.

WINSLOW — Winslow High School head football coach Mike Siviski forwarded the DVD until he found the play he wanted to see. There, on the television in Siviski’s office, Dirigo’s Spencer Trenoweth ran past the Oak Hill defense for a 70-yard touchdown. Siviski forwarded the film again, this time to Trenoweth’s 51-yard touchdown run late in the game.

Leavitt’s 2-point conversion in the second overtime in last season’s Pine Tree Conference Class B championship game ended the Cougars 2011 season one game short of its goal.
