Most of the eight were taken into custody over the last week and authorities say they were responsible for trafficking in drugs both in the Waterville region and along Midcoast Maine.

Suspect arrested minutes after Saturday night robbery at Big Apple convenience store in Paris
Greggory Smallwood, 21, of Norway was arrested at about 10:10 p.m. and charged with robbing the store at 102 Main St., according to police.

Waterville man who admitted to involvement in terrorist conspiracy now facing assault charge
Xavier J. Pelkey was indicted this week in Somerset County on a count of aggravated assault and authorities say he used a chair to injure another inmate at the county jail, where he was being held prior to pleading guilty to a federal conspiracy charge.
