Mother, grandmother sentenced to a decade in prison for their roles in Bangor 10-year-old’s death

The mother and grandmother of Braxtyn Smith, who died in 2024 after months of physical and sexual abuse, pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the case.

Police say John Stratton Jr., 22, was driving 123 mph before the deadly wreck in August 2025.
