Police have been unable to trace the origins of the gun Herman DeRico used to kill three people and himself in 2015, and the victims’ mothers say the incident makes a case for stricter gun control.

Richard Lee and Maria Luce are behind bars in the Kennebec County jail.

Tami Ouellette, 43, of Wilton, was indicted on a charge of gross sexual assault this week, after lesser charges were dismissed in September so the prosecution could pursue the class A felony charge.

Kashawn McLaughlin, 26, who has been in jail for a year, will be sentenced later.
