SKOWHEGAN — A painting of birch trees in the fall will be raffled at River Roads Artisans Gallery. The raffle will begin with the gallery’s first holiday event — an open house from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12. The drawing will be held Saturday, Dec. 17, at Man Day River Roads special event for shopping by men. Proceeds will benefit the Somerset County Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program.

Medicare beneficiaries have seven weeks this year, from now to Dec. 7, to enroll in, or change a Medicare Part D prescription drug plan. A change could help lower their prescription drug costs or protect against higher drug costs. These plans are offered by private insurance companies that are Medicare approved.
