Daigle, a three-time Kennebec Journal Coach of the Year and the 2023 Varsity Maine Coach of the Year, had been head coach at Cony since 2010.

The longtime coach drew critics and supporters while putting together the most successful run Maine has seen.

The iconic coach won’t return to the River Hawks’ helm after 44 years, during which she won 20 state championships.

The senior became more of a playmaker for the Stags this season and led them to a third straight Class A title.
