Town officials have reacted to public outrage over the killing of 18 Canada geese and goslings, saying they were told the birds would be relocated.

Nine new piglets of the breed that was nearly extinct a few years ago were born to Luna and Lurch in the college’s sutainable livestock program.

Called in to remove 18 Canada geese from the town beach, the USDA’s Wildlife Services Office euthanizes the birds because there are too many in the state.

The two-week-old cubs, the first tiger cubs born in the state, leave DEW Animal Kingdom & Sanctuary July 5.

The cubs join 200 animals from all over the world at the Domestic, Exotic and Wild Animal Kingdom & Sanctuary.
