World Champion Marco Foyot, of France, visited the Mill Park pรฉtanque courts Friday in Augusta for a demonstration and clinic. In pรฉtanque, players aim to beat opponents by throwing boules as close to a target ball as possible while standing in a circle with both feet on the ground. Foyot is a seven-time French national champion in the sport and also won the country’s junior championship twice. As a member of France’s triples team in World Pรฉtanque Championship competition, he has won a gold, a silver and four bronze medals. All photos by Joe Phelan.

Documents filed in court by Augusta police say Joshua A. Brougham confessed to them he robbed Camden National Bank on Saturday, Oct. 15 because he needed money to support a drug habit, pay back a debt and buy gas.
