Photos: Augusta shelter serves lunch of game meat for those in need
People in need were fed Thursday at the Bread of Life Soup Kitchen as part of a "Hunt.Fish.Feed" program, created by the Sportsman Channel, which taps an underutilized game meat and fish donated by sportsmen and women. John McGannon, a noted wild game chef and founder of WildEats, worked with the staff of volunteers at the shelter to make a lunch of barbecue American venison hoagies, bacon and rosemary red potato salad, fruit salad and drinks, with an ice cream sandwich for dessert. All photos by Kennebec Journal staff photographer Joe Phelan.
