Man hospitalized after being struck in Fairfield

Police say Dana Dodge was crossing Main Street outside the crosswalk when he was struck shortly after 4:30 p.m.

The truck’s driver suffered injuries not considered life threatening, state police said.

Police are investigating the crash, which closed a section of Main Street for several hours.

Simon Gonzalez, a kindergartener at Edna Libby Elementary School, was killed in a crash early this week.

A man fled from the scene and is wanted for questioning, Clinton police said.

The driver of one of the vehicles was taken by helicopter to a hospital for treatment of serious injuries, state police said.

Rhaheem Friend, 34, pleaded guilty in August to manslaughter for the death of Nicholas Foss, 38, according to court records.

The teenage driver of the vehicle that struck the man was issued a summons for operating without a license, police said.

The Somerset County Sheriff’s Office said no charges are expected against the driver of the truck who crashed into the golf cart.

The man was driving the cart on Valley Road when he was struck by a pickup truck, according to the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office.
