State expands fish consumption warning for Maine waters due to ‘forever chemical’ contamination

State reduces scope of ‘do not eat’ advisory in Fairfield area for wildlife due to ‘forever chemical’ contamination
The Maine Department of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife warned people in 2021 not to eat deer and other game found in a 125-square-mile area of central Maine, but the agency announced Monday it has reduced that area to 25 square miles, while also advising people not consume turkey harvested there.

Motorist knocks out power in Fairfield, forces closure of road after driving into utility pole, police say
