After extreme heat, central Maine stores still have plenty of air conditioners
Some local businesses reported strong sales of air conditioning units this week, but wherever you go most local stores seemed to have plenty in stock for when temperatures heat up again.

Tension lingers after Winthrop School Board members approve revised budget

Winthrop schools may have to pay if district doesn’t use electric buses that came riddled with problems
The school buses, which were awarded from the federal Clean School Bus program but soon broke down, have been off the road since early this year. Though the buses have now passed inspection, School Board members are uncertain about whether to put them back in service.

Update: Four taken to hospital after three-vehicle crash Saturday night in Winthrop
