VASSALBORO — Six Class A teams and four Class B teams qualified for Saturday’s state golf team championships Tuesday at the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference qualifier at Natanis Golf Course.
The meet also served as an individual qualifier with 20 players from Class A and 10 from Class B qualifying for the state individual championship scheduled Oct. 13 at Natanis.
Bangor shot the low team score among Class A schools with a four-person total of 321, followed by Cony at 325, Brunswick and Messalonskee at 326 and Oxford Hills and Edward Little at 328.
Brunswick’s Brad Smith was the low individual qualifier in Class A with 74. Cony’s Thomas Foster shot 76 to qualify for the Rams while Justin Rollins and Billy Rollins of Messalonskee shot 79 and 81, respectively to qualify.
In Class B, Maranacook was the low team qualifier at 321 followed by Camden Hills at 328, Maine Central Institute at 359 and Leavitt at 373.
Maranacook’s Luke Ruffing and Camden Hills’ Daulton Wickenden were low individual qualifier with 76s. Also qualifying from Maranacook were Cam Brochu (80), Tucker Whitman (82) and Matt Delmar (83). MCI’s Gavin Dugas (78) and Mt. View’s Austin Higgins (84) also qualified.
Winslow 5, Leavitt 1: Pilar Elias scored three times and the Black Raiders beat the Hornets in a KVAC B game in Winslow.
Alliyah Veilleux added a goal and an assist for Winslow (9-2-0). Autumn Poulin also scored, while Rachel Sirois and Cassidy Roderick each had an assist. Hillary Libby had five saves to earn the win.
Jenna Cote scored for Leavitt (2-8-1). Angela Daigle had 11 saves for the Hornets.
Erskine 3, Skowhegan 1: Jade Canak scored twice as the Eagles beat the Indians in a KVAC A game in South China.
Avery Bond added a goal, while Baylee Doughty, Lariah Langis and Bridget Humphrey each had an assist for Erskine (5-3-2). Paige Leary had four saves for the Eagles.
Michaela Lewia scored for Skowhegan (1-8-1). Andrea Quirion had 11 saves.
Richmond 3, Rangeley 0: The Bobcats scored three times in the second half to earn an East-West Conference win over the Lakers in Richmond.
Autumn Acord, Amber Loon and Noell Acord all scored for Richmond (11-0-0). Sadie Gosse had two assists, while Kayla Beaulieu had one. Kelsie Obi had one save to earn the win.
Meg Target had 15 saves for Rangeley (4-3-0).
Morse 1, Nokomis 0: Miracie Trimble scored in the second half as the Shipbuilders beat the Warriors in a KVAC B game in Newport.
Sadia Crosby earned the win for Morse (10-1-1) with 11 saves.
Becky Orcutt stopped 16 shots for Nokomis (7-5-0).
MCI 2, Mt. View 0: Hannah Emery scored in the first half and Carmeline Dunningham in the second half to lift the Huskies to a KVAC B win Pittsfield.
Kathryn Smedberg ahd 17 saves for MCI (2-9-0), while Logan Basford had 21 saves for Mt. View (1-9-0).
Waterville 3, Brewer 1: The Panthers scored three straight goals on their way to a KVAC B win in Waterville.
Lydia Roy scored twice and Sabrina Carey added a goal for Waterville (5-2-3). Gabi Martin stopped two shots to earn the win.
Teal Jackson gave Brewer (0-10-0) a 1-0 lead early in the game. Glory Watson stopped 24 shots.
Waterville 5, Brewer 2: Tommy Samson scored three straight goals in the second half to lift the Purple Panthers to a win over Brewer in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A game.
Samson, who also scored in the first half, broke a 2-2 tie when he scored with 27 minutes, 31 seconds left in regulation with an assist from Patrick Keane. He scored an unassisted goal with 18:32 left, then capped the scoring with 4:59 left with an assist from Ryan Tozier.
Michael Olivera scored in the first half to give Waterville (5-2-3) a 2-1 lead. Cam Gardiner and Danilo Guthro each had an assist in the first half. Zack Disch stopped six shots and Liam Edwards one for Waterville.
Yutaro Kawanura scored a goal in each half for Brewer (1-9-0). Ian Burgess made seven saves.
Mt. View 5, MCI 0: Trevor Diemer and Lorenzo Milani each had two goals and an assist as the Mustangs earned their eighth win of the season, in Thorndike.
Kyle Crowell chipped in a goal and Kyle Turner two assists for Mt. View (8-2-1). Mikey Hustus had three saves to earn the win.
Matt Lassard had seven saves for MCI (3-7-1).
Valley 5, Buckfield 1: Carrington Miller scored three times as the Cavaliers cruised to an East-West Conference win over the Bucks in Bingham.
Stone Ellis added a goal and two assists for Valley (6-5-0). Gabrial Pullen also scored and Collin Miller had 14 saves.
Jacoby Bailey scored for Buckfield.
Richmond 9, Rangeley 0: Randy Moody had three goals and three assists in the Bobcats’ East-West Conference win over the Lakers in Richmond.
Eddie Stewart added two goals and two assists for Richmond (11-0-0). Curtis Anderson chipped in two goals, while Nate Tribbett had a goal and an assist. Colin Acord, Marcus Blake and Cameron Emmons each added an assist. Dustin Sullivan had three saves.
Gunner Johnson had 11 saves for Rangeley (1-7-1).
Mt. Abram 2, Spruce Mountain 2: Max Moreau scored with 36 minutes left in regulation to tie the game for the Phoenix in an MVC game in Jay.
Jay Chenard gave Mt. Abram (6-4-1) a 1-0 lead 1:09 into the game, with an assist from Amos Withee. Greg Whitneys cored with 13:05 left in the first half to tie the game for Spruce Mountain (6-4-1), but Withee gave Mt. Abram the elad back with an assist from Ethan Boyd with 4:15 left in the first.
Mt. Abram’s Tristen Dyer and Spruce Mountain’s Dustin Jones each had 10 saves.
Bangor 4, Lawrence 3: Kenny Colpritt scored two second half goals, including the game-winner with 3:24 left as the Rams beat the Bulldogs in a KVAC A game in Bangor.
Nick Blomerth scored twice in the first half as Lawrence (3-5-3) took a 3-2 lead. Nick Chamberlain also scored in the first for Lawrence, while Zach Blomerth had two assists and Matt Saunders had one.
Eli Clein and Nate Bach scored in the first half for Bangor (5-1-3).
Brad King had nine saves for Lawrence, while Liam Harrigan and Colton Markevich combined for five saves for Bangor.
