I was compelled to write regarding the chastising of the new Democratic legislators and leaders.
Gov. Paul LePage chose his bully pulpit to once again rant. He demanded respect by virtue of the office he holds and his right to privacy.
Does he not understand that he and all public officials are under constant scrutiny by the political watchdogs, whether they are Democrat, Republican or independent?
As for respect, one must give respect to receive respect. He should stop having tantrums. I want to thank the political watchdogs; it’s all about checks and balances.
