AUGUSTA — A Hallowell attorney was sentenced to the 10-day alternative sentencing program after she pleaded guilty Thursday in Kennebec County Superior Court to a charge of operating under the influence.

Karen G. Kingsley, 69, was fined $700 and her license and registration privileges were suspended for three years. The offense occurred April 15 in Augusta.

Kingsley, whose license to practice law remains active, has worked as assistant bar counsel to the Maine Board of Overseers of the Bar, the state’s governing body over lawyers.
