NORRIDGEWOCK — A two-story home on Waterville Road was damaged in a fire that started near the chimney Sunday night, according to Capt. Steve Ireland of the Norridgewock Fire Department.

The fire was reported about 11 p.m. Sunday at 227 Waterville Road and appears to have originated on the exterior porch near a chimney, Ireland said.

He said the damage to the home was minimal, although there was some smoke and water damage to the first floor. There were no injuries, he said.

The Office of Maine State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire, he said.
