The Adopt-A-Platoon event, sponsored by Grover-Hinckley Post 14, American Legion, Fairfield, on Dec. 7, 2013, was a great success. We want to thank all of the individuals, businesses, organizations and American Legion posts that donated comfort items for members of the Maine National Guard 133rd and 1035th. We filled 31 boxes for our soldiers from Maine. The boxes were shipped on Dec. 9; we were told all should arrive in time for Christmas. Thank you to all who remembered our deployed military during this holiday season.
