GARDINER — Seth McFarland had 22 points, including 16 from the free-throw line, as Gardiner defeated Maine Central Institute 56-48 in Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B boys basketball action Friday.
Alex LaPointe added 13 points and five steals, while Brad Weston had nine points and six rebounds for Gardiner (9-5).
Mitch Hallee had 17 points and Eric Hathaway 10 for MCI (4-10).
MESSALONSKEE 81, SKOWHEGAN 35: Jordon Holmes scored 29 points, including five 3-pointers, to lead the Eagles to the KVAC A win in Oakland.
Holmes also had five assists. Nick Mayo added eight points and 10 rebounds for Messalonskee (11-4).
Skowhegan (1-12) was led by Eli Holland with seven points and Dequan Frost with six.
MARANACOOK 63, MEDOMAK VALLEY 45: Taylor Wilbur scored 21 points to lead the Black Bears to the KVAC B win in Readfield.
Cam Brochu added 13 points for Maranacook (11-4) while Brad Worster had 12 points, eight rebounds, four assists and two blocks.
Medomak Valley (6-7) was led by Nick DePatsy with 14 points.
KENTS HILL 58, BERWICK 38: Meklas Kwemo had 22 points and 15 rebounds as the Huskies cruised to a win.
Trevor Guity added 12 points and five assists for Kents Hill (5-3).
HALL-DALE 43, WINTHROP 6: Dani Sweet and Allison Crockett each scored 10 points to lead the visiting Bulldogs to the Mountain Valley Conference win.
Thea Sweet added eight points for Hall-Dale (9-5).
Randi Dennett had three points for Winthrop (0-15).
