AUGUSTA — Gardiner scored two runs in the top of the seventh inning to win Game 2 of a doubleheader and salvage a split with The Red Barn in American Legion baseball action Saturday.
The Red Barn won Game 1 12-2 while Gardiner won the second game 7-5.
In Game 1, Cam Brochu and Mitchell Caron each doubled for The Red Barn. Brian Allen earned the win. In the nightcap, Alex Curtis belted a home run and doubled for Gardiner. Dalton Therrien, Allen and Brady Dion also hit doubles. For The Red Barn, Caron had two doubles while Tayler Carrier and Brochu had one apiece.
Both teams are 6-8.
