WATERVILLE — The Colby College football team played a flawless first half, opening a 40-point lead on the way to a 47-14 win over Hamilton on Saturday afternoon.

Sophomore quarterback Gabe Harrington had his best start to date for Colby (1-4), throwing for 225 yards and four touchdowns. Cony grad Luke Duncklee had a 41-yard touchdown catch and added two 1-yard touchdown runs to help the Mules take a 40-0 halftime lead.

Colby outgained Hamilton (0-5), 452-184.

HUSSON 12, GALLAUDET 6: John Smith ran for 123 yards and a touchdown as Husson took over sole possession of first place in the Eastern Collegiate Football Conference with the win over the Bison in Bangor.

Smith’s 2-yard touchdown run late in the first quarter gave Husson (4-1, 3-0 ECFC) a 6-0 lead. In the second quarter, quarterback Joe Seccareccia found Ryan Stroud for a 3-yard touchdown pass.

Gallaudet (2-3, 2-1) scored with 1:47 left in the game, but the Eagles recovered the onside kick. Husson held the Bison to 155 total yards.

MAINE MARITIME13, COAST GUARD 7: Joseph DiBiase’s 2-yard touchdown run with 39 seconds left in the first half put the Mariners on top for good in New England Football Conference play in Castine.

Lawrence grad Jake Doolan ran for 60 yards for MMA (2-3) while his brother Josh Doolan ran for 28 yards and caught one pass for 14 yards for the Mariners.

Gardiner’s Justin Lovely had six tackles and three pass breakups for the Mariners.

MIDDLEBURY 35, BATES 6: Matt Milano threw for 287 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Panthers to the New England Small College Athletic Conference win in Middlebury, Vt.

Matthew Minno and Brendan Rankowitz each caught two touchdown pass for Middlebury (3-2). The Panthers held Bates (1-4) to 185 yards of total offense. Bates scored on a 74-yard pass from Matt Cannone to Mike Tomaino in the first quarter.

TRINITY 17, BOWDOIN 10: The Bantams scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter to take the NESCAC win in Brunswick.

Down 10-3, Trinity (5-0) tied the game when Bryan Viera caught a 15-yard pass from Henry Foye early in the fourth. With 6:22 to play, Trinity took the lead when Foye threw a 14-yard touchdown pass to Chris Ragone.

Branden Morin’s 45-yard interception return gave Bowdoin (2-3) a 10-3 lead early in the second quarter.
