I expect a good legislator to listen to people, identifying critical issues that require action. It may not be glamorous to attend hearings and meetings, but that’s what is needed to get the job done. Sen. Colleen Lachowicz, D-Waterville, has worked tirelessly on behalf of myself, my son and other families, in this capacity.

I have a child who is a functional autistic, but I couldn’t get him any extra help for that because of the laws Maine had. Colleen worked to push through the legislation that changed Maine law for autistic care limits from younger than 5 years old up to 10 years old, and now my son’s got a chance at getting the extra help he needs. That law came to fruition because Colleen took the time to pay attention to details that can improve or even save a child’s life.

Vote to re-elect Lachowicz for District 16.
