Less than two days after electronics worth $20,000 were stolen from his tour van in St. Louis, Maine rapper Spose knows he’ll have at least $15,000 to cover his loss.

A fundraising effort on Spose’s behalf, set up on the website GoFundMe.com, reached its $15,000 goal early Wednesday afternoon. By late afternoon, the amount had grown to $15,675.

Spose, whose real name is Ryan Peters, said Tuesday that he didn’t know how much of his loss would be covered by insurance. He also lost about 22 songs he planned to release on two future albums.

The break-in occurred around 12:30 p.m. Monday while Spose was getting lunch. He’s in the middle of a 40-day national tour.

On his Facebook page Wednesday, Spose thanked all the people who contributed to the campaign.

“I’m speechless. The past two days have been a roller coaster of lows and highs,” he wrote. “However, thanks to an unprecedented, unexpected, and unbelievable amount of support from our friends, family, AND THE GREATEST FANS ON EARTH, we are bouncing back.”
