Having known Rep. Karen Kusiak professionally for 25 years, I am supporting the Fairfield Democrat’s re-election to the Maine House of Representatives serving District 84/108 (Smithfield, Mercer, and Fairfield).
Karen has earned a reputation as an education leader in the House, helping improve academic standards. Committed to taxpayer equity in school funding, Karen has worked with both political parties, controlling property tax increases, restoring $40 million to local municipalities. An active member of the Legislature’s Inland Fisheries and Wildlife Committee, Karen is focused on deteriorating Maine lakes. The January 2014 edition of The Maine Sportsman featured the article “Maine’s Lakes in Trouble,” saying that tourism and fishing generate $3.5 billion for the economy, involving 52,000 Maine jobs.
Karen Kusiak is devoted to maintaining the quality of our lakes. Helping veterans transition to civilian life, increasing jobs, improving education and maintaining our lakes, Karen walks the walk.
