BRUNSWICK — The Bowdoin College women’s basketball team earned a season sweep of rival Colby Saturday with a 62-57 victory at Morrell Gymnasium.

Shannon Brady led the Polar Bears (17-2, 5-0 New England Small College Athletic Conference) with 18 points, Marle Curle had 15 points and both Kate Kerrigan and Sara Binkhorst finished with 12 points.

Hall-Dale graduate Carylanne Wolfington nailed six 3-pointers for 18 points for Colby (12-5, 2-3 NESCAC), while Caitlyn Nolan had a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds.

CASTLETON ST. 70, THOMAS 51: Katie McAllister, of Pittston, recorded her second double-double in as many games with 20 points and 10 rebounds but it was not enough as the Terriers dropped a 70-51 decision to the Spartans in Waterville.

Meghan O’Sullivan — who scored her 1,000th career point late in the first half — led Castleton (14-2, 10-0 North Atlantic Conference) with 17 points.

Jordan Agger-Barnes added 14 points for Thomas (2-15, 1-9 NAC).

UM-FARMINGTON 77, GREEN MOUNTAIN 23: Kelly Pomerleau connected on 4-of-6 3-pointers and finished with 14 points as the Beavers blitzed the winless Spartans at Dearborn Gymnasium in Farmington.

Meghan Smith and Courtney Alofs added 12 points apiece for UMF (7-10, 6-4 NAC), while Keelin Banks recorded her first double-double of the season with 11 points and 10 rebounds for Green Mountain (0-15, 0-10 NAC).

UM-MACHIAS 62, UNITY 30: The Clippers built a 32-9 advantage by halftime and never looked back in a win over the Rams in Unity.

Sierra Tjelmeland, of Windsor, paced Machias (2-14, 2-7 Yankee Small College Conference) with 14 points, while Amy Carver and Brooklynne Lewis, of Anson, each finished with 10.

Morgan Schroeder led Unity (1-9, 1-8 YSCC) with nine points.

CASTLETON 91, THOMAS 81: The Terriers saw their three-game winning streak come to an end Saturday with a loss to the Spartans in Waterville.

Levi Barnes, of Skowhegan, led four Thomas (8-9, 6-4 NAC) players in double figures with 18 points, while Adam Carlsen had 17 points, Eric Westbrooks finished with 16 and Winslow’s Justin Murray added 10.

Chad Copeland had a game-high 28 points for Castleton (9-7, 7-3 NAC) and Pavin Parrish made 13-of-14 free throws en route to 23 points.

GREEN MOUNTAIN 89, UM-FARMINGTON 75: Cassius Belfron scored 23 of his game-high 28 points in the second half as the Spartans (5-10, 5-5 NAC) held off a late comeback bid from the Beavers at Dearborn Gymnasium in Farmington.

Mt. Blue grad Nick Hilton paced Farmington (4-12, 3-7 NAC) with 22 points and seven rebounds, while Uriah Forest-Bulley recorded a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds.

UM-MACHIAS 100, UNITY 67: Ben Teer led five Clippers in double figures with 18 points as Machias (9-9, 6-3 YSCC) pulled away in the second half for the win in Unity.

Josef Whitman had a game-high 25 points for Unity (1-10, 1-9 YSCC), while Sean Tocci and Jacob Scoville added 15 and 14 points, respectively.

MEN’S HOCKEY

MIDDLEBURY 4, COLBY 3 (OT): Jake Charles scored 59 seconds into overtime on a rebound to pace the Panthers past the Mules in overtime at Kenyon Arena in Middlebury, Vt.

Trailing 3-2 late in the third period, Colby (5-10-2, 2-8-2 NESCAC) got a goal from Michael Rudloph with 1:52 remaining in regulation to force the extra session.

E.J. Rauseo and Mario Benicky also had goals for the Mules, while Jake Charles, Cameron Romoff and Evan Neugold also scored for Middlebury (7-6-3, 4-3-3 NESCAC).

WOMEN’S HOCKEY

WILLIAMS 3, COLBY 1: The Ephs scored 2 minutes, 35 seconds into the contest and led the rest of the way in a victory over the Mules in Waterville.

Gwen Shultz, Michaela Levine and Emily Krueger each score goals for Williams (7-6-1, 4-2-1 NESCAC).

Katie McLaughling scored the lone goal for Colby (8-8-0. 1-8-0 NESCAC) and Jessica Thulin made 18 saves in net.

NORTHEASTERN 5, MAINE 2: The Black Bears held a 2-0 lead after two periods but could not hold on in a loss to the Huskies in Orono.

After Denisa Krizova cut the deficit in half 7 minutes, 10 seconds into the final period, Hayley Masters and Melissa Haganey scored a pair of goals 10 seconds apart beginning at the midpoint of the third, respectively, to give Northeastern (7-12-4, 6-7-1 Women’s Hockey East) the lead for good.

Kelsey MacSorley and Jennifer More each scored for Maine (8-12-3, 7-5-1 WHEA), while Meghann Treacy finished with 37 saves in goal.
