WEST HARTFORD, Conn. — Freshman Kevin Little scored a career-high 25 points to lead the University of Maine to its first America East win of the season, 70-61, over Hartford on Sunday.

Zarko Valjarevic added 14 points and Till Gloger recorded his first double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Black Bears (2-18 overall, 1-6 America East). Mark Nwakamma led Hartford (11-9, 4-3) with 22 points, while Justin Graham notched 11 points.

The win ended a program record 13-game losing streak for Maine.

ST. JOSEPH’S (VT.) 77, UMAINE-AUGUSTA 71: Dre Anderson shot 5-for-10 from the 3-point arc and finished with 25 points to lead St. Joseph’s College of Vermont to a comeback win over UMaine-Augusta in Yankee Small College Conference action in Unity.

Steven Edwards added 19 points off the bench for the Saints (12-9, 7-1), which trailed 35-32 at the half. Keith Chesley led the Moose (5-15, 3-5) with a game-high 27 points and 13 rebounds. Brandon Rogers chipped in with 13 points and 13 boards while Garrett Alley and Taylor Wilbur contributed 12 points apiece.

MAINE 56, UMBC 42: Liz Wood tallied 14 points, 11 rebounds, five steals and three assists to lead the University of Maine to its sixth consecutive win in Baltimore.

Sigi Kolzar added 14 points and five rebounds for the Black Bears (13-6, 5-1 America East). Sophie Weckstrom and Bella Swan added eight points apiece.

Capree Garner led UMBC (6-13, 1-5) with 13 points.

ST. JOSEPH’S (VT.) 83, UMAINE-AUGUSTA 79, OT: Jazz Laracuente scored eight of her game-high 31 points in overtime to lead St. Joseph’s of Vermont to a YSCC victory in Unity.

Regina Steele added 18 points and 13 rebounds for the Lady Saints (13-4 overall, 7-0 YSCC), while Chontayvia Kennedy chipped in with 17 points. Jamie Plummer had a monster game for the Moose (10-8, 4-2) with 28 points and 24 rebounds while playing the full 45 minutes. Carmen Bragg added 20 points and Jessica St. Amand 13.

WOMEN’S ICE HOCKEY

MAINE 4, NORTHEASTERN 2: Meghann Treacy made 40 saves and Jennifer More scored twice to lead the University of Maine to a Hockey East win in Orono.

Goals by More, Kelsey MacSorley and Brooke Stacey gave Maine (9-12-3, 8-5-1) a 3-0 lead late in the second period and it never looked back. More added an empty-netter late. Denisa Krizkova and Kendall Coyne scored for Northeastern (7-13-4, 6-8-1). Chloe Desjardins stopped 21 shots in net for the Huskies, who outshot Maine, 42-25.
