WATERVILLE — Whitney and Jan King of Waterville, have announced the engagement of their daughter, Sarah King, to Michael Zimmer, son of Paul and Jean Zimmer, of Roseville, Calif.
The couple resides in Berkeley, Calif., where they are both Ph.D. candidates at the University of California, Berkeley. Sarah is in the Chemistry Department and studies fundamental gas-phase chemical physics. Michael is in the Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences Department and designs embedded computer architectures for safety-critical systems.

Sarah graduated from Waterville High School in 2006 and received her Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2010. Michael graduated from Oakmont High School, in Roseville, in 2006, and was a 2010 graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering.
An Aug. 8, 2015, wedding is planned.
