WATERVILLE — Hospice Volunteers of Waterville Area will offer certified Hospice volunteer training beginning Saturday, March 14. Those interested in sharing two to four hours a week with individuals and family members who face a life-threatening illness can help make living each day a gift.

Support can include companionship, letter writing, life review, reading, compassionate listening, respite for the caregiver or bereavement support for family members, according to a HVWA news release.

Classes will run March 14, 16, 18, 21, 23 and 25. Saturday training is set for 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and weekday classes will be from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. A pretraining interview is required as space is limited.

For more information or to schedule an interview, call Volunteer Coordinator Bridget Ryan at 873-3615 ext. 11, or email bryan@hvwa.org. There is a $30 process and materials fee. Scholarships are available. Training applications can be requested by calling 873-3615 or online at www.hvwa.org.
