“He’s gone too far this time….”

“How could a sober and rational politician say that…?”

“What does he think he’s doing…?”

It is depressing, but inevitable, that we’re all wondering about Gov. Paul LePage’s motives. Here are two (somewhat contradictory) thoughts:

He knows he has three more years in office and thinks that if enough people are afraid of him he will get his way.

He thinks that the greedy and rapacious billionaires like the Koch brothers will take care of him when he is through with politics or politics with him. He already gets his ideas from their hired brains at the American Legislative Exchange Council and courts them by vetoing a climate change study.

Either one is bad for civility in Maine.

Mainers should tell their legislators they back them in standing up to this craziness.
