NEWPORT — Freshman Sara Doughty scored in the second half to lift Winslow past Nokomis 1-0 in Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference girls soccer action Saturday.

Sarah Guimond assisted on the goal. Hillary Libby made eight saves for Winslow (7-2-2).

Aren Herrick and Shayla Kelley combined to make fives saves for Nokomis (6-5-0).

MOUNT VIEW 1, MCI 1: Aubrey McCannell made 17 saves to help the Huskies earn a KVAC B tie with the Mustangs in Thorndike.

Sydney Morton scored for MCI (1-9-1).

Kate Arthars scored off an assist from Kate Bennett to tie the game for the Mustangs (5-5-2). Jenni Nadeau stopped two shots.

MESSALONSKEE 3, LEWISTON 2: Fern Calkins’ header off a McKenna Brodeur free kick in the second overtime gave Messalonskee the thrilling KVAC A win in Lewiston.

The goal was the second of the day for Calkins. Brodeur also had a goal, on a penalty kick, and an assist while Lauren Pickett also had an assist for the Eagles (9-2-1). Sarah Van Der Karr made 10 saves in net for Messalonskee. Alanna Taylor and Taylor Chamberlain scored for the Blue Devils (5-6-1).

BOYS SOCCER

MOUNT VIEW 3, MCI 0: Mike Hustus scored twice and had an assist to lift the Mustangs to the KVAC B win in Thorndike.

Damien Doughty added a goal and an assist for Mount View (3-9-0). Brandon Reynolds also had an assist while Seth Davis made five saves.

Aiden Peacock stopped 13 shots for MCI (4-6-1).

FOOTBALL

WINSLOW 42, FOXCROFT 0: Jacob Trask and Dylan Hutchinson connected on three touchdown passes in the first half to lead Winslow to the shutout win in Class C North action at Poulin Field.

Trask and Hutchinson converted on scoring plays of 26, 29 and 29 yards as the Black Raiders (6-0) roared out to a 35-0 lead by halftime.

Hutchinson finished with four catches for 88 yards, while Trask completed five of 10 passes for 94 yards and also ran for a 19-yard touchdown.

Kenny Rickard had a 2-yard rushing touchdown and Corey O’Connell snatched a Foxcroft fumble out of the air and returned it 37 yards for the other Winslow scores.

Alec Clark and Nat Beckwith (two sacks, two fumble recoveries) led a Winslow defense that limited the Ponies (2-4) to 54 total yards.
