UNITY — The Friends of Lake Winnecook will hold its annual meeting at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, at the American Legion Hall in Windemere Lane. The keynote speaker will be Nate Gray, biologist, with Maine’s Department of Marine Resources. Gray has been active in the fish restoration efforts in the Sebasticook River and Lake Winnecook.

The meeting will begin with social time with coffee and snacks and a time to meet with friends around the lake. The lake association will also have reports concerning the Courtesy Boat Inspection Program, water quality monitoring, the Lake Smart program and information about the loon count.

If you are a lakefront property owner and are concerned about water quality issues in the lake, you should take the time to attend the meeting and get involved in the lake association.
