Singer-songwriter, worship leader and Bible teacher Donna (Parschauer) Gassett of Huron, Ohio, will be the featured speaker at the annual Central Maine Ladies Retreat on Saturday, Oct. 15, at Kennebec Valley Baptist Church, 91 Marston Road, Waterville.

Registration is $15 and begins with refreshments and fellowship at 8 a.m. The first session is at 9 a.m. A box lunch is available for an additional $5 and must be ordered in advance.

Gassett graduated from Briercrest Bible College and earned a master’s degree in music from Houghton College and has spent her entire life in music ministry She and her husband Bill began Crescendo Ministries, a traveling speaking/musical team. While serving as worship leader in her church for 20 years, this songwriter interweaves music that underlines her practical Bible teaching. She deals honestly and sensitively with struggles, pan and discouragement, guiding women to a hope in Christ.

Her daughter, Sonja Leavitt, will accompany her and share in the music of the program. Leavitt studied piano and voice at Taylor University and earned a master’s degree in English as a Second Language at Wheaton College. She has taught in Ethiopia and now teaches ESL at The Ohio State University. She and her husband Brian have two daughters.
