A federal judge has sentenced a Gardiner man to seven years in prison and five years of supervised released for distributing bath salts and heroin.

Luke Greenlaw, 43, pleaded guilty in April to charges of distributing bath salts and conspiracy to distribute heroin and bath salts. The heroin was obtained from Massachusetts and New Hampshire and the bath salts originated outside the United States and were obtained through the mail.

According to court records, Greenlaw was a part of a conspiracy to distribute bath salts and heroin across Maine and elsewhere from January to July 2015.

Court documents indicate Greenlaw also lived in Waterville.

The case was investigated by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, the Scarborough and Portland Police departments and the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency.
