WATERVILLE — Two cars were towed after colliding on Front Street by Head of Falls just before 6 p.m. Monday.

A Subaru Forester was driving down Front Street in the left lane when a PT Cruiser came out from Temple Street to cross Front Street into the Head of Falls parking lot, according to Waterville police Officer Luis Rodriguez.

“This corner tends to be a little bit more of a blind spot,” he said.

The driver of the Subaru swerved to avoid the Cruiser, but got hit in the rear and spun around. The driver of the Cruiser then hit a pole and bounced backward into the entrance at the Head of Falls, Rodriguez said.

The driver of the Subaru was taken to the Thayer Center for Health in Waterville with minor injuries, and the other driver was checked and release by Delta EMTs.

Both cars sustained considerable damage, and the Cruiser’s rear tire came off during the crash. Both vehicles were towed away.
