DAMARISCOTTA — “It’s What We Do,” a rich and colorful collection of wood, ceramic, paint, silver and fiberglass works will be on viewstarting Thursday, Aug. 10, at the Stable Gallery at 26 Water St. An artist reception is set for 5-7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 11.

This month the artist members of the gallery have created a display of fine art and craft works. The August show demonstrates the full range of creativity available to the artists represented by the gallery.

Mary Hall’s silver and Maine rocks jewelry is highlighted as are the sea-based sculptures created by Ralph Moxcey.

Painters paint, that’s “what they do,” but the end results reflect the uniqueness of each artist. Marcia Brandwein’s oils and pastels depict flowers in close proximity and coastal scenes at a distance. Hati Modr finds her muse among the boats, buildings and shadows of Monhegan Island.

Priscilla McCandless paints scenes combining images from her life. Denise Rankin, also a crafter of Shaker wooden boxes, paints series including her most recent robot series and “Advice Your Mother Gave You.”

Louis Charlett creates trays and lamps.

New to the gallery this year, Lori Watts creates ceramic mugs, bowls and covered butter dishes finished with colorful firings.

The current show will run through Sept. 6.
