The last couple of years we have heard about the deficit and how are we going to pay this money back.

Here are a few suggestion that might help a little:

* All of our politicians in Washington, D.C., should take a cut in pay.

* They should pay for their own health insurance benefit or at least partial (just as they are asking every other working person to do).

* Contribute to their own pension plan.

* Their constituents — not them — should vote on whether they should receive a pay increase.

I don’t know of any other person who works for someone else who can inform their supervisor that they are giving themselves a raise and how much. So why are our elected senators and representatives allowed to do this? They are working for us; we should decide if they deserve a raise and how much.

All of the above is what is happening to many of the workers in the country. We talk about the other countries with dictators and how hey hoard the money and their people live in dire poverty. Well, guess what is happening here? Who is hurting with all the cuts? It sure isn’t our elected congressmen in Washington or the rich.

Social Security recipients have not received any increase in two years, we are told, because of the low rate of inflation.

Has anyone checked on the cost of gas, food, heating, etc. recently?

We are being exploited, and that needs to stop.
