NEWINGTON, N.H. — A New Hampshire church-run Easter egg drop that was overwhelmed by thousands of participants last year is holding another one — with some changes to avoid the overcrowding.
Next Level Church of Newington says this time, children can participate only if they’re registered online and attend a church event on Easter, April 24.
The location of the egg drop hasn’t been announced. Those who register will receive a map to the location.
Last year, 60,000 eggs were dropped, some with tickets for prizes such as TVs and game systems. The church said it expected up to 3,000 people, but about 10,000 showed up.
The church says it now will award prizes by raffle.
