I was honored when Bill Stokes asked me to be treasurer for his campaign for mayor of Augusta.

I had the pleasure of serving with Stokes on Augusta’s Board of Education for a number of years. During that time, I found him to be one of the most thoughtful, honest and dedicated elected officials with whom I have worked.

The Augusta Board of Education had many challenges during our terms together. Stokes carefully analyzed every policy, budget or decision that we made as a board.

He always listened to the citizens of Augusta with concern and interest. Most importantly, he provided strong leadership for our community.

Among many other initiatives, Stokes’ leadership was most observed as the building chairman for the new Cony High School.

Because of his dedication and proven commitment to public service, I know that he will be an amazing mayor for our city. I look forward casting my vote in June for Bill Stokes as mayor of Augusta.
