I’m responding to the diatribe published in the “Our Opinion” editorial on July 1 and all the chest-thumping, righteous indignation therein spewed at the Republican-controlled Legislature.

If the Republicans at the State House are guilty of “spinelessness” for delaying anti-bullying legislation for further consideration, I simply have to ask where, oh, where is the anti-bullying legislation from the previous 30 years of Democratic domination of that same Legislature?

It seems as though they couldn’t be moved to protect the victimized since the beginning of time. Somehow the word “hypocrite” comes to mind in connection with both House Minority Leader Emily Cain, D-Orono, Rep. Terry Morrison, D-Portland, and the editorial staff of this newspaper.
