Justin Merrill, 20, of Skowhegan, center in black T-shirt, watches this afternoon as rescue workers attend to his girlfriend, Alissa Hayden, 21, of Skowhegan, after a Buick Enclave driven by Kathleen Delorme, 68, of Winslow, pulled out in front of the motorcycle they were riding on Main Street in downtown Waterville.

According to investigating officer Galen Estes, Delorme tried to scoot across Main Street, from Appleton Street, and didn’t see the green Kawasaki motorcycle.

Both Merrill and Hayden slammed into the passenger side of the car, which sustained passenger-side dents in the doors and a broken window.

Hayden was taken to Inland Hospital in Waterville after suffering minor injuries, Estes said.
