AUGUSTA — Ryan Minoty had another strong start to lift Augusta, and Gardiner/Post 204 picked up two wins to stay alive in the American Legion Baseball Zone 2 tournament Saturday.

Minoty threw a complete-game two-hitter with 11 strikeouts and also cracked a three-run homer as Augusta defeated Post 51, 6-1, in the winner’s bracket game.

Gardiner/Post 204 eliminated Franklin County with a 10-5 victory, then knocked off Post 51, 7-6 in another elimination game.

Augusta will face Gardiner/Post 204 at 4 p.m., Monday at Morton Field. Augusta needs one win for the Zone championship and an automatic trip to the state tournament. If Gardiner wins Monday, the teams will play again Tuesday at the same site, with the winner being declared the Zone 2 champion.

The Zone 2 runner-up will play the Zone 1 runner-up in a play-in game Saturday in Augusta, with the winner advancing to the state tournament.
