LEWISTON — The Maine Democratic Party is listing Lewiston as its next stop on a cross-state tour to hear from voters about issues facing the state.

The next stop in the party’s “Get Real Maine” tour will be a meeting with local workers today in Lewiston. Further stops are planned in Benton and Lincoln County, and more are to be scheduled.

The Lewiston event follows Saturday’s meeting with farmers in Fort Fairfield as well a potato industry dinner and community barbecue.

Among the issues brought up by farmers who attended Saturday’s meeting in Fort Fairfield was the need for a government- and organic farming-certified slaughterhouse in Aroostook County and the high cost of health care.
