NORRIDGEWOCK — A ceremony and ribbon cutting on Thursday will mark the opening of the new $22 million bridge.
The opening of the bridge, which spans the Kennebec River, completes a process that began in 1998 when the Maine Department of Transportation, the Federal Highway Administration, Norridgewock and the Maine Historic Preservation Commission started the study that culminates Thursday.
The ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. on the south side of the bridge, which carries Routes 201A and 8 over the river.
