AUGUSTA — Maine Republican Party Chair Charlie Webster says he will release the results of preliminary research into same-day voter registration improprieties.
Webster plans to release the information at a news conference today in Augusta.
The news conference is scheduled amid a people’s veto effort to repeal a law passed by the Legislature that does away with Maine’s law allowing people to register on Election Day.
Webster says his study of recent election activity shows a wide array of potential improprieties dealing with registration and residency claims.
