FARMINGTON — A driver fell asleep at the wheel and his pickup truck veered across Wilton Road, hit a curb and rolled over early Thursday morning in Farmington.

The driver, Rossiter Mosher, 21, of Fairfield, was uninjured in the crash just before 6 a.m., when he was driving his 2005 Chevy truck toward Wilton on the four-lane road, according to Bonnie Pomeroy, a spokeswoman for Farmington Police Department.

After Mosher fell asleep at the wheel, his truck veered across oncoming lanes before hitting the curb that sent it rolling over before coming to a rest back on its wheels near a cow pasture, Pomeroy said, citing police reports of the incident.

It is unclear how many times the truck rolled over or how far it traveled before hitting the curb, she said. No tickets were issued and Mosher was wearing his seatbelt during the crash, which caused significant damage to his truck and a dirt bike in the truck bed, she said.
