MOUNT VERNON — Fire blamed on lightning ignited a home at 330 Wings Mills Road this morning, leveling the house. No one was injured.

Crews from Mount Vernon, Vienna, Belgrade and elsewhere are bringing the fire under control at this hour. The fire apparently was sparked by lightning as a strong line of thunderstorms moved through Kennebec County around noon.
The occupants of the home were able to escape. No injuries are being reported at this hour.
