Buried on page D4 of the July 26 Morning Sentinel was a small story about GE Healthcare’s “…moving its 100-year-old X-ray division to China…”.
This is a rather straightforward, typical big-business approach to increase profitability. I know, since I used to work for GE.
What confounds me is that President Barack Obama called on Jeff Immelt — the head of GE — to participate on a job growth task force. Hopefully, President Obama told Immelt that the growth was supposed to be in the USA!
Am I the only one confounded by this incongruity? I hope the president either sets Immelt’s expectations right or removes him and puts someone else on this task force.
