ROCKLAND — Lobster lovers are getting their bibs ready as Maine’s largest lobster festival kicks off for the 64th year.

The five-day Maine Lobster Festival gets under way today in Rockland.

The annual event typically draws about 100,000 people who put away about 20,000 pounds of lobster.

The festival also features live music, Coast Guard station tours, crafts, a lobster-eating contest, carnival rides, road races and other events.
